Newlands Stables is a busy training yard at the very foot of Mandown Gallops in Upper Lambourn, indeed, it is arguably the best placed yard in the Lambourn training complex. With 77 boxes in yards and a barn, it has been completely overhauled in the last 5 years, giving it an excellent reputation The horse walk, lunge rings and paddock are extremely useful facilities for a yard of this size.
Lambourn is one of the top training centres in the country with exceptionally easy access to London and the M4 . Recently the unrivalled gallops have been the subject of considerable expenditure and trainers are keen to train in this beautiful area in the Downs. The village has excellent everyday shopping, and good schools, and there are many restaurants and private schools in the area. Fast trains to London take 40 minutes from Didcot or an hour from Hungerford.
For the last few years Newlands has been used by Jamie Magee for his extremely successful pretraining and rehab yard, and the yard is now being offered for sale as a result of the opportunity to expand further.
Brian Meehan, Brendan Powell and Kim Brassey have all trained with success at Newlands. This historic yard has turned out its share of important winners, both on the flat and National Hunt.

There is an excellent office with mess room facilities. In the corner of the quadrangle is a 2 bedroom flat. There are two tack rooms.
The Yard is renowned for its two lunge rings, horse walker and canter track around the paddock, all centrally placed.

From M4 Junction 14, take the A338 towards Wantage, then first left onto the B4000. After about 3 miles turn right to Lambourn. At the entrance to the village turn left, then right, then left on Upper Lambourn Road. After a mile take the right turn into Upper Lambourn, follow the road round to the left, turn right into Maddle Road, the yard is on the left after the left bend.
