Mainline stations to London Waterloo can be found in Alton (from 1 hr 7 minutes) and Bentley (60 minutes). The property is within easy reach of the A31 with links to A3, M3 and M25.
There is a choice of schools in the area including Binsted Primary, Eggar's Secondary, Edgeborough, Frensham Heights, More House and Lord Wandsworth College.
The surrounding rolling Hampshire countryside offers endless scope for walking and riding on miles of footpaths and bridleways to which there is direct access from the grounds of the house with stunning views.
West Barn is a picturesque and versatile converted barn and stable in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. Throughout the finish is exceptional, with many of the Grade II listed period features including the original vaulted oak beams, having been carefully renovated to create an outstanding, unique home. The entrance is via a vaulted reception hall, which is a grand space with two double height solid oak staircases which sets the tone for the quality and style for the rest of the barn. One set of these impressive stairs leads up to a mezzanine sitting room, which enjoy views out to the country side. The family kitchen with dining area and walk in pantry, is fitted in a pleasingly contrasting contemporary style. Leading seamlessly on there is a cosy family room with log burner. These two areas, share a smooth Egyptian limestone floor and underfloor heating. The ground floor also provides for two bedrooms (one en suite). The second set of stairs from the reception hall lead up to the master bedroom which has an en suite bathroom. Up an additional set of stairs from the family room are two bedrooms served by a family bathroom with a snug or study area. This is a fabulously designed barn conversion with breath taking views.
West Barn is approached via a tarmac drive to the side leading to a double detached garage and parking for several cars. A beautifully created courtyard style garden has been created between the main barn and former stable, offering a secluded private area directly accessible from the reception hall. The gardens surrounding West Barn have been thoughtfully landscaped and there is a beech hedge enclosing it on all sides
making it very private and perfectly frames the Hampshire views beyond. There is alternate access to the property via the adjacent by-way
if required. This access arrives at the detached large Garden Barn, which has an open car port area. This barn offers a perfect place from which to work from home, with a large office space above complete with bathroom and plumbing for a kitchenette. Downstairs there is a store room.
Mains electric, mains water and draining and oil fired central heating.
Leave Farnham town centre taking the A31 towards Alton and Winchester. Pass the Bentley exit and continue for about 2 miles and as the dual carriageway narrows with the Hen & Chicken pub on your right, turn left signposted Mill Court and Wyck. Proceed for about 0.75 miles to a crossroads and continue straight across onto Clay's Lane. Follow the signs to Wyck for about 1.25 miles, and with the Wyck village sign on the right, take the left turn into a 'no-through road' and continue forward. Just as the lane turns to the right proceed straight on with Wyck Barn on your right. West Barn is at the end of this smaller lane. View more View less
